I am proud to write that I spent some time knitting yesterday. In attendance were three babies under the age of one and two knitting adults, so I did not accomplish much, but it was a good time nonetheless. Mia sat on my lap for a bit and then got in the way, but I imagine it will only get more challenging to knit with her around.
I made some progress on one of the hats that I will send off to Guatemala with love. But I was a bit deflated when I heard that someone donated two large trash bags full of machine knitted hats. These hands can't compete with that!
So an update on the Mommy SOS entry from the words of my friend:
we got the duck yesterday. you are not going to believe this, but the part of the duck that lucas uses, the tag, is different. ours is a 2004 and the new one is 2005. the tag is much smaller. i gave it to lucas last night, hoping he wouldn't notice. i wish i got this on film...he looks at the tag and notices that it's different. then he looks at the duck's face and realizes it's the same. he goes back to the tag, then to the face, and so on for a few minutes. finally, he gives me the duck and says, no. susan had a good idea - the elephant we have has the same tag as his old duck so i'm going to have my mom switch the tags of the elephant and the new duck. is this ridiculous???
I wish that my friend did capture the scene described above. I would give anything to see it. Wow, I was astonished at this kid's astute powers of observation. As much as it is a gigantic hassle for poor mom and family, at least she knows that he's no dummy. Mom should be proud of her son for not being so gullible. As soon as I hear from my friend about Operation Tag Switcheroo, I will post an update.
Miss Mia had her first Kindermusik class yesterday at Rising Song School of Music. We went to a preview class to see how she would like it and to see if I would like it. Although Mia was the youngest student there and the only one who drooled all over the shakers, she seemed to have a good time judging from the fact that she did not cry or fuss the entire time and gave quite a few smiles during class. We sang, danced, and weaved through scarves while singing and it wiped her out! As soon as I put her in the Ergo, she dug her face into my chest and fell fast asleep.
