Passed my Glucose Tolerance Test! Hurray. No need to watch my carb/sugar intake or prick myself after meals. No chance of abnormally large baby. Thanks for your prayers and good thoughts.
Today I went to Village Yarn and Tea , with my friend Esther and her friend Lana. A decent winter sale is going on until February 19th, so of course I could not pass up the opportunity to make a small purchase. I bought a nice bulky alpaca with a mix of gray and lilac to make a scarf with and a very cute lavender flower button for the baptism dress. Since they are open until 8 PM on Thursdays, we stayed to have some tea and knit. I had the Decaf Assam and a scone. It was altogether a lovely experience, but I wish they would carry a decaf Earl Grey.
Yesterday, my friend Pam treated me to lunch at the Queen Mary Tea Room. Thanks Pam for a nice afternoon. I feel so English this week as I've taken "proper" tea twice! After deliberating between chicken salad or a dish called Breast of Chicken with Two Mustard Sauce, I decided on the latter and did not regret it. It was absolutely scrumptious and I will try to replicate it at home. There I had the Decaf Apricot Tea which I had the last time I went as well. The tea is very fragrant and they give enough to keep it hearty after multiple pourings. Again, my wish is that they would carry a nice Decaf Earl Grey.
My projects are coming along. No completions to report. I did put a nice dent in the baptism dress tonight.
My latest craft endeavor is to try rubber stamping/embossing. I have two cute puppy stamps that I want to use for a birth announcement. If it winds up being too time consuming and challenging, I might just opt to purchase announcements. I scoped out the Paper Source while on a date with Ken last night (we went to Mora's in Bell Suare for ice cream) and boy is paper cha-ching. After all is said and done, I will probably spend about the same on supplies to make my own. When I take into account all the time and effort, it might be worth it to bay about 100 bucks for 100 announcements. I did find some really cute ones with puppies online. We'll see. Susie and Stella are going to lend me some basic materials to work with so I can figure out if this is yet another hobby I want to pick up.
