Seattle Toddler Co-op Scene

I've been terrible about writing. I would use the power outages as an excuse, but we were only out of power for a mere 14 hours. Peanuts compared to some of our compatriots living up North or on the Eastside. On the unfortunate night and day without power, Mia woke at 3 AM, her fingers and face cold to the touch. We snuggled her in bed with us and she slept until about 7 AM. We ventured to church early to see if there was power there. We hoped there would be so that we could keep warm. No luck. We ended up at Emerson's house, also without power, but the company was nice. I went through the drive through and McDonalds for hot coffee beforehand. Normally, McDonald's coffee is not up to par, but the hot beverage tasted oh so good! Then we went to NorthGate Mall to do some Christmas shopping and then to PEPS where Claudia had electricity and more hot beverage. SCORE! By the time we got home around 2 PM, our power had been restored and everything in our fridge was fine. I've got nothing to complain about as now a week later, there are people still without power.

Onto the Co-op scene. Now that I know I won't be working come April--Yes, I gave notice and will work through March 2007--I need to start lining up activities for the Meemster and me. Seems awfully far away, yet my experience is time flies. I cannot believe my Mia is on the verge of mobility and speech. She learned to clap a week ago too.

Any how, I'm trying to line up our activities and would you believe I have to think about Fall 2007 NOW??? Thanks to another mom, Sue, it our PEPS group, I'm on the ball. We have quite a few to visit in the new year. The new adventures we will have excite me, but I'm also hesitant about not having the routine. Since August we've gone to work at SCC on Tuesdays-Thursdays and Mia has gotten used to being my office assistant and of course I enjoy earning petty cash.

So far we'll sign up for Kindermusik with Miss Sharon and enroll in a Co-op. That leaves three more days free. The possibilities are endless!
