Baby's First Christmas Loot

How much better can it get than celebrating a baby's very first Christmas? Celebrating our Savior's humble birth is always magical and humbling, but with a new babe ourselves, it seemed even more special. God has blessed us so much with Miss Mia. Loving our own child helps us gain a little more understanding into God's immense love for us.

Papa and I were so very excited for Christmas this year. We decorated our home, hung the stockings, took Mia to see Santa, and went downtown to take pictures of the decorations. The best was sitting back and watching our Meemster open her presents. The pictures were actually taken a couple of days before Christmas when Mia turned 8 months. Mia is chomping at the bit to open some presents as you can see in the first picture, so we let her have the gift bag from Auntie Jin. It was a very generous gift certificate to El Gaucho's. Not for Mia really, but she'll taste the steak in the booby milk for sure.

On Christmas Day, Mia opened almost all her presents in the morning. She got too tired from all the hard work and excitement and needed a nap. She got some great loot from family and dear friends. Thank you everyone for making Mia's first Christmas so special. Mia loves all her new toys. It's truly amazing to see that she knows which toys are new and chooses new toys over old ones. We spent time with good friends, the Kims and the Kils and then headed home for a lazy afternoon by our tree.

As for me, I got a Magic Bullet from Mia so that I could make her baby food with ease. Papa got us an overnight stay and spa treatments at the Salish Lodge! I can't wait to redeem the gift certificate. What a great gift! Thanks Papa! It will be so much fun to relax at the lodge and enjoy a hike at Snoqualmie.

As Mia enters her ninth month, she's become quite the clapper and scratcher. We catch her clapping by herself all the time, it helps to have music playing in the background. Those Kindermusik classes are really paying off. Mama's body has a number of scars--war wounds inflicted by little Meemster. My angel has also started finger foods and squeals with delight when she sees Puffs. Now I cannot believe that soon, Mia will be living just as long outside my body as she was inside. Oh, the tears are welling up knowing that I really can't stop her growing!
I spoke to a friend today who told me that her 10 year old daughter is beginning to develop and has started to get moody. YIKES! So NOT looking forward to that.
