A Little Day Trip Down Memory Lane

We spent a great day in the Berkeley/Oakland area. The day started off in the 4th Street Neighborhood of Berkeley where I used to love to shop for Home furnishings. But we arrived super early since we left shortly after the kids were up, so didn't get to go to the Crate and Barrel outlet or any of the other furniture/housewares shops. Sigh. . . but I did get to go to Bette's Oceanview Diner's to-go counter for a cup of Joe, a macaroon that was so yummy that I wish I bought a dozen, and a doggie shaped cookie for Mia. Mia enjoyed The Ark, a fun toy shop before we head to Fred and Becky's to visit their David aka Frecky Jr. He was such a cutie pie and so long or tall like his Dad. I wish we got a pic of the two Davids together.

We took another trip down memory lane and had lunch at Fenton's. I had a yummy Albacore Tuna Sandwich with Egg Salad. It was so yummy. For dessert I ordered my favorite, Toasted Almond. I had forgotten how big their scoops were and am sad to say I didn't get to finish. . . Mia enjoyed her staple chicken nuggets and fries and then had pink ice cream (strawberry yogurt). It was so late by the time lunch was over and Mia was at her wit's end. It was about a quarter to one and way past her nap, so we headed home.

Hope to get back to the Berkeley/Oakland area soon!
