No longer a Newborn : (

Our precious babe lost her newborn status today. Mia is now three months old and SO much bigger than her first days with us. I can't quite believe how much she has grown and I find myself wishing that she would slow it down. Spending time with Mia has been a dream come true. I know a lot of people don't enjoy the newborn stage, but I've thoroughly enjoyed just watching her peer around, develop her neck and head control, and it's always endearing to watch her as she makes sucking motions in her sleep. I tell myself how much I'll miss these days when she's is old enough to leave me for school. While I do anticipate with excitement her growth and development, I'm savoring these days because I know the years will fly by. I can't believe I have to go back to work on August 1st!

What I can tell of her temperment so far:

She is headstrong (literally and figuratively). Example: She wouldn't come down the birth canal. Since we started breastfeeding, she would crane her neck to look at whatever she fancied. Her favorite things to gaze at are our black and white wedding photos and the puppy border in her room.

She is picky. Example: Mia refuses the bottle at times and won't even drink the milk that pools in her milk. She pushes it all out with her tongue. It seems as if she just doesn't want to deal with the new thing in her mouth and would rather go without eating.

She is reserved. Example: Mia does not give up smiles to just anyone. She studies new people and situations until she's ready to interact. Most of the time the look she sports is serious. Mia is generally content and finds few reasons to make a fuss.

We are looking forward to getting to know her more as she develops her personality. God is good and answered all our prayers for a mellow baby who sleeps and eats well. All Praise and Glory to our Lord for our baby girl.
