Being the first Sunday of Advent, we began our family tradition of lighting an Advent candle on our Nativity Set after dinner. We read from our Advent devotional, sang Away in a Manger and lit the purple candle. Then it was time for Mia to go to bed and we told her she could blow out the candle. She tried, but couldn't quite extinguish it with her breath. Once we blew out the candle, she said, "Happy Birthday". Of course, she is right, we are anticipating the birth of Christ, but we thought it was pretty funny.
Another silly thing that happened this week that I have to share is Mia was trying to put lotion on herself one day. She found a little bottle of hotel lotion in the bathroom drawers while I showered. But she was pretending to put the lotion over her clothes. So I told her in Mandarin that lotion was for her pi fu, but she didn't know that word. But she does know a similar sounding word: pi gu which means butt or bottom. You can guess what transpired next, she started to put the lotion on her butt and then mine. I was laughing so hard.
Care to share silly things your kiddos have done?

Ha ha ha... classic. Too bad you didn't get that on video! It would've easily become the "black mail material" once she grew up!! :P
It has been very long since I last commented on my lovely wife's blog which serves as a chronicle of Mia's life. We just returned from a short trip to Seattle. It was bitter cold (at least compared to Northern Cal) but seeing good friends really warmed the heart. I know Mia and mom miss our Seattle life, but we have all adjusted fairly well to the Bay area. Mia keeps mama busy and work is keeping me busy. I'm trying to be better on maintaining a good balance.
The meemster is quite hilarious. She really enjoys life and has the ability to amuse herself with silly antics. Perhaps she gets that from me. She has been sick in the past few days, which is sad but also a bit nice. She is much less active and not running around like a chicken with her head cutoff. She actually lets us hold her and she places her sorry warm head on our shoulders which is quite endearing. I'm sure it'll be no time before the fever subsides and she goes running around in circles.
I'll try to be better on the comments as I know my wife really likes them :)
