Many Milestones

It sure has been a long stretch since my last post. After I was able to get out of the house, my mom, Mia and I went everywhere and it left little time for my favorite activities like knitting and emailing. Anyhow, I needed extra doses of being away from home and it seemed to help Miss Mia nap. The carseat is cozy for her and the motion rocks her to sleep.

Grandma left last Sunday and Kona probably misses her the most because Grandma threw her pieces of toast in the morning and apple in the afternoon. Kona would sit and whine by my mom's door in the morning and late afternoon in anticipation of her walks outside. Now Kona just watches me put Mia in the carseat and she knows it time for her to be confined to the kitchen. I feel so sorry for her, but I have yet to master taking her out with the baby.

My Mia is smiling and enjoying looking around at the world so much more. She is also paying attention to the books we read to her! It's been such a fun ride. We are blessed because she sleeps very well at night. Last night she went for 8.5 hours! That's the longest yet. It's not all good because it takes just about an hour to settle her down at night. We'll take that for the long stretch of sleep. Mia's health seems to be fine. Her bili was still 12.2 at her 6 week check and her crit was super low, but she's making red blood cells so that doctors are not concerned. At her 6 week check she also received her first set of shots. It wasn't so bad. She cried at the time, but was okay as soon as she nursed and she had no adverse reactions to the shots. THANK GOD!!! I know some babies have a hard time after shots.

Papa just loves her so and can't wait to get home to cuddle and play with her. It's so much fun to watch them together. When he comes home he tells Mia all about his day and then we all go for a walk with Kona.

All in all life has been wonderful since Mia joined us about two months ago. We're so blessed.
